Volunteer for an Event
We are always in need of volunteers to help with our events. Planners, organizers, onsite managers, greeters and raffle people and many more – the woman-power necessary to run and manage our events at the level we expect and our supporters expect is immense. But, so is the fun. Consider joining us and rolling up your sleeves by being an event volunteer.
Join a Committee
Contribute your skills in accounting, writing, bookkeeping, communications and other fields. Join one of our many committees and working groups that form the backbone of this organization.
Inspire, Annual Fundraising Committee: Manage the Annual Fundraising Dinner in late spring and other ad hoc events. Volunteers needed for program development, silent auction items, recruit attendees, event visuals, nametags, thank you notes, and volunteer coordination.
Connect, Annual Gathering: Plan and execute the required Annual Meeting in October. Volunteers needed for program development, recruiting attendees, event visuals, nametags, thank you notes, and volunteer coordination.
Community Events/Event Planning: Receive and evaluate incoming event proposals. Coordinate FFW Komen Race for Cure participants, Giving Trees, Connors Mercantile Event and more.
Database Management: Build, maintain and archive the Donor Perfect database. Update the database monthly. Maintain a central location for historical data. One database committee member will sit on each committee and run those committee reports, web links and modules. They also input new data.
Fundraising Appeals: Identify and solicit individual and corporate donors for the FFW annual campaigns in Spring and Winter. Staff giving tables at events. Write personal notes on appeal letters. Plant daffodils in fall.
Grants: Review and update grant rack cards and website information. Distribute grant information to four counties. Review and update grant forms. Select Grantees. Plan Grantee Recognition Event. Busy time August – June.
Marketing & Communications: Develop marketing collateral. E-news blasts, annual report, PR, FAQs, branding, website, etc. Volunteers needed for writing, website maintenance, document storage, public relations, and social media.
Volunteer: Recruit, retain and manage volunteers for FFW committees. Plan volunteer events (open house, thank you). Staff the volunteer tables at Annual Dinner and Annual Gathering. Manage volunteer database. Recruit volunteers.
