Grantmaking to individual girls and women by the Fund for Women of the Southern Tier, Inc. helps each grant recipient further her education and independence.
The Fund for Women’s primary focus is to help girls and women achieve economic self-sufficiency and realize life goals through grants in the areas of education, health, wellness, career and life skills.
The Fund for Women’s 2019 grantmaking year will fund programs or projects that support the education or health of girls and women. Grants are awarded annually on a competitive basis. In 2013, the Barriers to Care program was established to provide funds to women in treatment for breast cancer to address non-medical issues that make access to care a challenge. Since, this program has continued.
The geographic area for the Fund for Women is defined as Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates counties in the Southern Tier of New York State. All applicants, whether individuals or organizations, must reside or be based within this region. Individuals and non-profit organizations are invited to submit one application per funding cycle.
