Who We Are
The Fund for Women is the only dedicated funding source for girls and women living in Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates counties in New York State.
Fueled by its supporters, Fund for Women channels the power of community philanthropy to break down the barriers that persistently hold women back. We provide grants to girls and women striving to realize their life goals, improve their health and achieve economic self-sufficiency. We also provide annual awards to community non-profit organizations for programs that empower girls and women. Our hope is that every grant has the power to help transform a life, by giving every girl and woman the confidence of knowing that other women believe in them and are here to help.
About Challenges in our Region
What are the conditions that make our cause so compelling? In brief, poverty, lack of opportunity, low educational attainment, poor health and high incidence of intimate partner violence continue to impede the quality of life for many girls and women within our region.
