Who can Apply?
Educational Grants
Female applicants (of any age) living in Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates counties are eligible to apply.
Nonprofit Organization Grants
Nonprofit organizations that operate and serve community members within our four-county service area are eligible to apply.
How to Apply?
The Fund for Women of the Southern Tier, Inc. accepts applications submitted through the online grant management system – https://communityfund.org/grants-and-applications/.
In addition to answering a few basic questions, individuals applying for educational scholarships will need to upload a 1-2 page essay. The essay should best illustrate the motivation to further her education. These individuals will also need to upload a copy of her or her parents’/guardians’ most recent tax return and two letters of recommendation.
When Should I Apply?
The Fund for Women Grants Committee accepts applications annually. Our grants cycle opens each November 1st. Applications must be submitted no later than March 1st to be considered.
What Happens After I Apply?
The Fund for Women Grants Committee runs a rigorous and confidential grants review process. The Grants Committee convenes an experienced FFW volunteer panel to evaluate each grant application against the award criteria to determine who will receive the individual educational and nonprofit organization grants. Grant recipients will be notified and awarded in June.
