New for our 2019 Grants Cycle, we have expanded the educational grants we provide to offer additional funds to girls and women who are interested in continuing their education.  In addition to the $500 educational grant awards we’ve traditionally offered through our annual grants cycle, we are adding up to four, $2,500 scholarship awards.

These scholarships are designed to provide support and encouragement to girls and women who have encountered significant financial barriers in pursuing their education after high school. Girls and women with specific career goals and a path for achieving them should consider applying for one of these new FFW Scholarship grants.

Award criteria includes a demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to girls and women who fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • First generation college students
  • Non-traditional students/adult learners – 25 years or older
  • Women who seek a diploma certification for high demand job functions in Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and/or Yates counties at a technical school, college or university
  • Girls and women who have overcome a significant challenge in their lives

FFW will continue to award $500 Individual grants for girls and women who may be experiencing difficulty keeping up with the financial demands that come   with continuing their education should consider applying for a FFW individual grant. These individual grants can be used to ease the financial burden of ongoing educational costs. Examples may include paying for college textbooks, technical supplies, assistance with past due tuition bills, fees for professional licensing exams, etc. Award criteria includes a demonstrated financial need.
