It is with a mix of sadness yet concern for safety that the Fund for Women will postpone its Inspire annual fundraising dinner until 2021.

Inspire has become a popular and anticipated event in our region, both for its “inspiring” speakers and the incredible, diverse community of supporters it brings together.  For us, this was to be an even more exciting year as Col. Eileen Collins would join us to share her journey from Elmira Free Academy to her groundbreaking achievement as the first woman pilot and commander of the space shuttle.

With more than 400 guests expected this June, we simply could not find a way to maintain the social distancing and safety measures so vital to stopping the progression of the pandemic.  While we gave consideration to postponing until the fall, the long list of events already pushed to the fall and fears of a second virus wave drove our decision to wait until 2021.

The good news is that Eileen Collins has agreed to still join us when we find a date in May or June that works for her, for us, and for our Corning Museum of Glass venue.  We so look forward to hosting you then!

FFW will be in touch with those of you who have purchased tickets or sponsorships for the event separately regarding the purchases and your options.

Thank you for your support and your understanding as we navigate these unprecedented times.  Stay safe, healthy, and inspired.
